SBDC entrepreneurial course offered online

The New York State Small Business Development Center at Jefferson Community College, Watertown, is now offering an online version of its popular entrepreneurial training course from May 14 to Aug. 20.

The classroom version of the training course consists of seven evening classes. The online course allows students to complete the sessions in as many as 14 weeks at days and times that are convenient to their schedule. The online course consists of reading materials and exercises designed to guide entrepreneurs through all aspects of starting and running a small business. The course also includes a one-on-one discussion with an SBDC adviser to discuss each participant’s specific business project, whether in person or through email or phone.

The course covers how to check credit reports and how to address any related problems, learning what goes into a business plan, what types of insurance are recommended as well as information on contract agreements, marketing and bookkeeping. Local professionals are featured in video segments throughout the course.
