For Save-A-Lot franchisee, focus on quality, service sets stores apart

Jeffrey L. Proulx owns eight Save-A-Lot grocery stores across the north country and Southern Tier. He employs about 180 people. He’s been in the business for more than 25 years, and his father was a grocer before him. One might say he has grocery business in his blood. Save-A-Lot grocery store to open in August off State Street in Watertown

All north country Save-A-Lots will stay open

POTSDAM — All four of the Save-A-Lot grocery stores in the north country are independently owned and won’t be among 22 corporate stores slated to be closed.

Jeffrey L. Proulx said his stores in Potsdam, Gouverneur, Ogdensburg and Tupper Lake are not slated for closure. Next week, Mr, Proulx is scheduled to open another store in Bath.
