PAMELIA — A Fort Drum soldier died in a motorcycle crash on Interstate 781 in Pamelia Wednesday.
State police said in a news release that two motorcycles were traveling east on I-781 operated by Cordell W. Dunning, 26, and Matheau R. Philibert, 27, near the Route 37 overpass.
Troopers said Dunning lost control of his motorcycle after the front tire touched the rear tire of Philibert’s motorcycle and hit a guardrail. Dunning was pronounced dead at the scene.
Troopers said Philibert was not injured in the crash and was not impaired by alcohol or drugs.
Police said the investigation is ongoing.
